AFTERNOON PROGRAM
Children who attend our afternoon care program can explore arts and crafts, a library, building blocks, puzzles, games and cards, trains, musical instruments and practical life activities. The games are adaptable to challenge the children at their level of development. The children learn songs to sing and songs to sign. Each day there is collective for children to share stories and songs, or to play a game. As part of their time outdoors, children enjoy being out in, and taking care of, the butterfly and herb garden.
Flexible Scheduling for Before and Afternoon Care
For those children needing additional care, HPMS offers flexible programming before class from 7:30-8:30 a.m., and after class from 11:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Our school calendar closely follows the Saint Paul Public School elementary calendar. However, we offer holiday care on many of the "no classes" days. Please refer to the school calendar for more information.
Nanette and Sonja provide a loving and nurturing space for the children in their care.
Afternoon Program Schedule:

11:30 a.m. - Outdoor play and gardening

12:15 p.m. - Lunch

1:00 - 3:00 p.m. - Nap for those children who need it; free choice and special projects with Nan and Sonja

3:00 p.m. - 1st pick up time; Kindergarteners needing care beyond 3:00 pm join the Afternoon Care Program.

3:15 p.m. - Group snack

3:30 - 5:30 - Outdoor play and gardening; free choice in the afternoon care environment

4:00 p.m. - 2nd pick up time

4:30 - 3rd pick up time
