AFTERCARE
PROGRAM

Our Aftercare Program offers a loving, nurturing space where children can relax and explore before the school day begins and during the late afternoon (3-5 p.m.). Children enjoy self-directed activities including arts and crafts, a library nook, building blocks, puzzles, board games, trains, musical instruments, and practical life exercises.

Flexible Scheduling for Before & After Care

To support our families, HPMS provides flexible options before class (7:30-8:20 a.m.) and through the afternoon until 5 p.m. Our academic calendar closely follows the Saint Paul Public Schools elementary schedule, with holiday care available on select non-class days (see Calendar for details).

Afternoon Program Schedule:

  • 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. | Outdoor Play / Lunch Transition
     

  • 12:15-1 p.m. | Outdoor Play / Lunch Transition
     

  • 1 p.m. | Mid-Day Pick-Up Option
     

  • 1-3 p.m. | Rest & Nap Time (non-nappers return to primary classroom for afternoon work cycle)
     

  • 3 p.m. | Afternoon Pick-Up Option
     

  • 3:15-3:30 p.m. | Community Afternoon Snack
     

  • 3:30-5 p.m. | Outdoor Play, Gardening, & Indoor Free Choice
     

  • 4 p.m. / 4:30 p.m. | Flexible Pick-Up Options
     

  • 5 p.m. | Final Pick-Up Time
